Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations and maintain accurate financial records
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Manage accounts receivable and payable cycles
• Review and post journal entries, reconciliations, and ledger adjustments
• Monitor cost allocation, inventory accounting, and product costing
• Ensure compliance with Ethiopian tax laws (VAT, WHT, Payroll, Corporate Tax)
• Support and coordinate external audits
• Assist in budgeting, expense tracking, and variance analysis
• Maintain fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules
• Strengthen internal controls and improve financial processes
• Provide ad-hoc financial reports and analysis to management

Job Requirements

Education & Qualification

• BA Degree in Accounting & Finance, Accounting, or related field
• MBA or ACCA is an advantage

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
• Experience in manufacturing, FMCG, or agro-processing is preferred

Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of Ethiopian tax laws and financial reporting standards
• Experience in inventory accounting, cost control, and production finance
• Proficiency in accounting software (Peachtree, ERP systems) and MS Excel
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent organizational and multitasking ability
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• High integrity and professionalism

Technical Skills

• Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
• ERP / Financial Systems
• Knowledge of IFRS / GAAP principles
• Financial analysis and reporting
